I was in Las Vegas over the long weekend, celebrating my sister in law's 50th birthday. There were about 20 of us there - how cool is that? We tried to make the most of it. We gambled some, did a good bit of walking, ate fabulous food, drank champagne (!) and generally had a fabulous time.
The above is a picture of the the Dale Chihuly installation on the ceiling of the lobby at the Bellagio. The lighting was funky, and it looked dark in person, too. Each "plate" is about a foot or two across. His work is really fantastic if you haven't checked it out, the link above shows more.
I've got a ton of stuff to do to catch up, but we had a great time and it's been a while since I posted, so I though I'd check in.
Wow, that's beautiful! I bet it was amazing in person. Thanks for the link. I hadn't heard of him - being cut off from the world, as I am... :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of him either. (Yes, I know I've been in the woods too long.) But I love vibrant colors so his work appeals to me on that level for sure. Nice to hear a big part of your family made the effort to get together for your SIL's birthday. Those things are important.
