I am going to pick up my new hippie campervan this afternoon. B has generously offered to drive me to Boulder to get it. It still needs the A/C recharged, and there was some flange or whatzit that it needs that he could order, but it would have to come from Washington state and wasn't urgent, so I'm holding off on that. Otherwise he did all the stuff to make it trip worthy.

I'm bummed out about making a car payment again, but it's been 11 years since I've had to do so, so I can't complain too much! And, as these things sometimes go, my Civic needs some work done. The muffler is going, and there's some noise when I make a turn. I bought a muffler from Midas several years ago, and they have that lifetime guarantee. When I get this one replaced, it will be the 4th or 5th one they've given me for free. One would think they would just make a better product that didn't have to be replaced so often. Mine have needed to be replaced every 3 years or so.

  1. Some people only keep their cars for 2 or 3 years, so they are probably still on the plus side of replacing. My friend's Honda had several free mufflers in it's lifetime. The didn't drive far from work to home and that was part of the problem, I guess with rust cuz it didn't get hot enough to dry out in the short trip...something like that. But glad your van is coming home. The ex-inlaws always had a little spiral notebook 'diary' in their motorhome to write about where they went and what they did. It helps to see how much you are using it and for what.

  2. I'm so excited for you that this is happening! Also, thank you for your offer of help this weekend. I don't think we'll be home on Sunday until 4:00 or so, but if you could come then, we'd really appreciate it! Let me know. . .

  3. Karen Sue - the notebook is a fabulous idea, and I am going to put one into the van today.

Claire - me and my son (9 years old) will come by around 4:30 Sunday for chickens and to do whatever you need for a few hours. I might need directions, but I'll try to get them off of MapQuest.

  4. That's great news, Linda! (And I'm so jealous...)

I tried to post this comment earlier, but something was haywire!

Have loads of fun with Graycie

Hi, sorry to make the humans do an extra step.
